By Gavin Keller, headmaster at Sun Valley Primary school
Inspired by Madiba, the father of our nation on his 95th birthday, Sun Valley Group of Schools, celebrated his legacy by forming Circles within a Circle to embed the understanding that we have to CARE for each other.
67 seconds were spent committing ourselves to real CARE (Conflict And Resolution Education).
Starting with the inner circle of the youngest - our Grade R's who gathered around the Madiba graphic, each Grade formed a protection circle, making a physical commitment to CARE for each other. The Silvermine Academy High School formed the outer circle, while the educators and staff formed the perimeter wall.
It takes a community to raise a child. Sun Valley Group of Schools is committed to raising future leaders who will change their world and leave a legacy.
Thereafter, the Grades rolled up their sleeves and delivered 67 minutes of service in their community. When you feel safe and worthy - you make a difference. Sun Valley Group of Schools made a huge difference in the life our community today.
